Regatta Vava’u Wrap-up

It was a full week of Regatta activities here in the Kingdom of Tonga. Everyone seemed to have a great time! There were silly games, lots of restaurant gatherings, bar gatherings, sailing, a kids parade, art, music, parties, and more. The perfect mix of cruiser activities. The events concluded with dinner and drinks followed by prizes and trophies for the race winners. Click the photo below to see a collage of many photos during some of the events. Later I will eventually find fast enough Internet to upload some photo albums.

Karen took hundreds of pictures during the sailboat races, and I spent some time tagging each photo according to the boats in the pictures. That way we have been able to give people pictures of their boat under sail (something everyone wants, but is hard to arrange). E-mail me with your boat name if you would like yours. If anyone has pictures of Tahina under sail during the events, please let us know. We don’t have a single one yet!

We now have the opportunity to start exploring the wonderful anchorages of Vava’u. These are some of the best cruising waters in the Pacific, so we hope to spend the next month really enjoying the area.
