We have already been at the boatyard for more than two weeks. We will still be here through at least the end of next week. A lot of work has been completed (as mentioned in previous posts). This week was no exception. The fiberglass work underneath is really coming along and may be finished in 2 more work days (unfortunately – for us – they have Friday and Monday off for Easter weekend here). Meanwhile, we have definitely determined water was coming in through the v-berth hatch. The hatch is now re-seated, so we think we have solved that mystery. We have prepared the salon for new carpet (thrown out the old and cleaned the floor), and have bought some non-slip material to put under the carpet. The rigging guy came this week and did a full inspection. No big problems found, and we now have a new topping lift, new spinnaker halyard, two new jib sheets, re-seated anchor light, and our rig is tuned up. The two engines are tuned up, and the generator part we needed has arrived. The bottoms are ready for painting, and yesterday Karen and I removed the old decal stripe near the waterline so we started waxing the hulls. Dozens of other little tasks have been done as well. Pretty good progress over all. The only concern now is that the weather forecast is showing rain next week – and we need good weather for the painting. Ugh.
