Last year, on our final day into Fiji, our spinnaker gave out (blow out is more like it). It had already ripped the year earlier and the repair in New Zealand didn’t hold. So it was time to retire that 3.5 year old sail. The angle of wind we experienced after leaving Fiji for Australia didn’t often give us spinnaker conditions, so I delayed ordering a replacement.
But, I wanted to get the new one before we leave Australia, so I called St. Francis (our boat manufacturer) and they put us in touch with the Quantum sailmaker that makes the sails for our boat. The new sail will be ready in two weeks, and then we have to decide where to ship it. It will be good to fly a spinnaker again!
